Description

Night Cap was a Stamina-category trinket that provided a 40% increase to Stamina Regeneration specifically while the player was extracting from a Machine. It was tied to Twisted Astro's research tree and required 100% research completion to unlock. The trinket was listed alongside active research trinkets until its removal. According to developer Qwel, the design was considered boring and lacking personality, which led to its replacement. Night Cap was superseded by Star Pillow in v0.9.1, which provides the same extraction-based stamina regeneration at a far stronger 100% rate.

History

Night Cap underwent one notable buff before its removal. Prior to v0.2, Night Cap fully restored Stamina when entering a new Floor but decreased Stamina Capacity by 10%, a very different design from its later form. In v0.3.0 it was buffed from 33% Stamina Regeneration to 40%. In v0.9.1 it was reworked into Star Pillow, which keeps the same extraction trigger but raises the regeneration to 100%. Qwel cited the design as boring and lacking personality when asked about the change. Night Cap's slot in Twisted Astro's research is now occupied by Star Pillow, and Night Cap is no longer obtainable in-game.

Trivia

Night Cap is listed in the Removed section of the Trinkets page on Fandom alongside Water Cooler, which was replaced by Cooler. Night Cap was the only removed Twisted Research trinket as of the wiki's last revision. According to the Trinkets trivia section, Night Cap (for Astro) would count as a trinket present on a Toon's model, but it was removed. The trinket is categorized as a Stamina trinket, the same category as its replacement Star Pillow.
