Dandy's World Multipliers Guide

Multipliers (sometimes called buffs) are changes to Stats that can be applied by Items, Trinkets, and Abilities in Dandy's World. Items and Abilities usually apply a visual effect indicator, while Trinkets often do not, though the stat change remains active. Each stat type has its own buff color: Skill Check is orange, Speed is yellow, Stamina is green, Stealth is blue, and Extraction Speed is purple. All strength percentages (except Skill Check chance and value) are multiplied together rather than added, which means stacking multiple small buffs produces diminishing returns compared to a single large buff.

How Multipliers Work

Multipliers modify a Toon's base Statistics by applying percentage-based or flat increases and decreases. Items and Abilities display a colored visual effect on the Toon while active, making it easy to tell which buffs are running. Trinkets, on the other hand, typically apply their stat changes passively without any visual indicator, so players must remember which Trinkets they have equipped. A critical rule to understand is the multiplicative stacking system: with the exception of Skill Check chance and value, all percentage-based multipliers are multiplied together rather than added. For example, two separate 25% Movement Speed buffs do not grant 50% total speed; instead the game calculates 1.25 times 1.25, yielding a 56.25% total increase. This multiplicative math means stacking many small buffs has diminishing returns, while a single large buff like Jawbreaker's 50% bonus is proportionally more efficient. Sources of multipliers fall into three categories. Items are consumable pickups found during gameplay that provide temporary buffs with fixed durations. Trinkets are persistent equipment pieces that often grant infinite-duration buffs but at lower strength values. Abilities are Toon-specific powers, either active abilities that must be triggered or passive abilities that activate automatically under certain conditions. Some multi-stat items like Gumballs, Jawbreaker, and the removed Enigma Candy can buff several stat categories at once, but their effects are marked as Not Guaranteed, meaning the buff randomly selects which stats it actually applies to on each use.

Skill Check Multipliers

Skill Check multipliers determine three aspects of Machine interaction: how large the Skill Check window is, how much value each successful Skill Check adds to a Machine's progress, and how frequently the Skill Check opportunity occurs on a Machine. The color of the Skill Check buff is orange. Among dedicated Items, Jawbreaker offers the strongest buff at 50% chance and size for 20 seconds, though its effect is not guaranteed on every use. Stopwatch provides a reliable flat 50 to Window Size for 15 seconds. For Trinkets, Magnifying Glass is notable as the only Trinket that affects Skill Check value, multiplying it by 1.5 at the cost of reducing window size by 33.3%. Participation Award provides a strong 25% chance increase with a minor 10% window size penalty. Among Abilities, Brusha's Artistic Inspiration is the most powerful sustained Skill Check buff, granting 50% chance and size to all Toons within her ability circle for as long as it remains toggled on.

Movement Speed Multipliers

Movement Speed multipliers affect how fast Toons walk and run. The color of the Speed buff is yellow. Some sources specifically boost only walk speed or only run speed, while others affect both. Movement Speed has the largest number of sources of any multiplier category, with numerous Items, Trinkets, and Abilities contributing buffs or debuffs. The Energized buff, gained during a Spring Fever floor event, is notable as the first multiplier to originate from a Floor Event and the first to also affect Twisteds' stats. Several Trinkets carry movement speed penalties as a trade-off for other benefits: Brick and Coal each reduce speed by 10%, while Cooler reduces it by 5% in exchange for extra Stamina capacity. Among Abilities, Looey's Heart of Helium provides a scaling 20% speed boost per missing Heart, rewarding risky low-health play. Poppy's Panic Pop grants a burst of 50% speed for 3 seconds after taking damage, and Bobette's Festive Aura gives 25% speed to nearby Toons with a 5-second lingering effect after leaving the circle.

Stamina Multipliers

Stamina multipliers affect either the total amount of Stamina a Toon can hold or how quickly they regenerate Stamina per second. The color of the Stamina Regeneration buff is green. Stamina management is crucial for escaping Twisteds, as running depletes Stamina rapidly. Protein Bar provides the strongest temporary regeneration buff at 150% for 15 seconds. For sustained regeneration, Star Pillow doubles Stamina regeneration while extracting from Machines, making it an excellent Trinket for dedicated Machine workers. Cooler adds 50 maximum Stamina but carries a -5% Movement Speed penalty. The Friendship Bracelet Trinket scales with team size, granting 5 additional Stamina capacity per living Toon. Whispering Flower provides 15% Stamina regeneration per Item in the player's inventory, rewarding players who hold onto multiple Items. Among Abilities, Astro offers the most complete Stamina package: Nap Time instantly refills Stamina to maximum, while Well Rested passively provides 50% Stamina regeneration at all times. Bobette's Festive Aura also grants 50% Stamina regeneration to nearby Toons within her aura circle.

Stealth Multipliers

Stealth multipliers affect the required distance a Twisted must be from a Toon before spotting them and influence Twisteds' targeting priority when multiple Toons are nearby. The color of the Stealth buff is blue. Higher Stealth means Twisteds must get closer before detecting the Toon, while negative Stealth values make a Toon easier to spot from farther away. Air Horn reduces Stealth by a flat 50 for 10 seconds, deliberately drawing Twisted attention and serving as a distraction tool to protect teammates. Eject Button also grants +25 flat Stealth for 3 seconds alongside its speed boost. Among Trinkets, Diary provides a strong permanent 25% Stealth increase, while Coal and Scrapbook carry Stealth penalties. For Abilities, Shrimpo's Bully passive has the most extreme Stealth effect in the game at -99 flat Stealth, making Shrimpo a permanent Twisted magnet that keeps enemies focused away from teammates. Pebble's Speak ability also reduces Stealth by 50 for 10 seconds, functioning as an active distraction tool.

Extraction Speed Multipliers

Extraction Speed multipliers affect how quickly a Toon extracts Ichor from a Machine. The color of the Extraction Speed buff is purple. Faster extraction means less time spent vulnerable at Machines, making these buffs highly valuable for efficient gameplay. Instructions provides the strongest Item-based buff at 100% Extraction Speed for 10 seconds, effectively doubling extraction rate. Squirm's Distressed Delicacy ability also grants 100% Extraction Speed for 10 seconds but carries a -50% Movement Speed penalty while active, creating a risk-reward trade-off. Shelly's Inspiration ability grants 75% Extraction Speed to nearby Toons for 15 seconds, making her one of the best support Toons for team extraction. Boxten's Wind-Up passive scales with the number of living Toons, providing 6% Extraction Speed per Toon alive, which can reach 24-30% in a full lobby. Stress Ball is a unique Trinket that stacks 5% Extraction Speed per Skill Check completed, lasting 15 seconds per stack, rewarding consistent Machine work.

Trivia

  • Other than Skill Check chance and value, every kind of strength percentage is multiplied rather than added.
  • Magnifying Glass is the only Skill Check Trinket to affect Skill Check Value.
  • The number of clicks needed to complete a Skill Check in a Treadmill Machine depends on the units of the Skill Check Window Size, meaning it is not affected by percentage multipliers.
  • Before v0.14.1, Movement Speed was not gained from Bobette's Festive Aura Ability, which previously only gave the Stamina Regeneration multiplier.
  • Before v0.17.1, Whispering Flower did not give any buffs. It was later remade to grant Stamina regeneration per Item in the user's inventory.
  • Energized is the first Multiplier to come from a Floor Event and to also affect Twisteds' stats.
  • Connie originally had 50% Stamina regeneration, which was later removed. This happened because Connie had code copied from Astro into her own code.
  • Enigma Candy was a multi-stat buff Item that has since been removed from the game. It appeared across every multiplier category.

FAQ

What are Multipliers in Dandy's World?

Multipliers are stat buffs or debuffs applied by Items, Trinkets, or Abilities. They affect stats like Skill Check size, Movement Speed, Stamina, Stealth, and Extraction Speed. Items and Abilities show a visual indicator when active, while Trinkets apply their effects silently. With the exception of Skill Check chance and value, all percentage-based multipliers are multiplied together rather than added.

What is the best Extraction Speed buff in Dandy's World?

Instructions and Squirm's Distressed Delicacy both grant 100% Extraction Speed, though Squirm's ability also reduces Movement Speed by 50% while active. Shelly's Inspiration grants 75% Extraction Speed to nearby Toons for 15 seconds. For passive buffs, Boxten's Wind-Up provides 6% per living Toon, scaling up to 30% in a full lobby.

How does multiplier stacking work in Dandy's World?

Multipliers use multiplicative stacking rather than additive. Two 25% buffs do not add up to 50%. Instead the game multiplies 1.25 by 1.25, resulting in a 56.25% total increase. This means stacking many small percentage buffs has diminishing returns compared to fewer large buffs.

What are the best Trinkets for Movement Speed in Dandy's World?

Vanity Mirror gives 30% Run Speed during Panic Mode, making it the strongest conditional Trinket. Bone and Pull Toy each grant 25% for short windows. For consistent passive speed, Dog Plush gives 10% Walk Speed, Pink Bow gives 7.5% Run Speed, and Speedy Shoes gives 5% to both. Note that Brick, Coal, and Cooler reduce Movement Speed as trade-offs for other benefits.
